Lillian Dabney – lillian@seattlebookarts.org
President of the Board
Lillian Dabney came to bookmaking through the back door by her practice
of
lettering. She has studied bookbinding with Kitty Maryatt and Dick Pio
in
Southern California and apprenticed with Joel Radcliffe at his Ars Obscura
bindery in Pioneer Square. Lillian is the founder of the Belltown Book
Artists which is a Book Arts Portfolio Group that meets monthly. In 2004,
she founded SCBA in order to establish a facility dedicated to book arts
in Seattle. When Lillian is not making books, she is reading them and
can be found most
days
at the downtown Seattle Public Library volunteering, attending library
programs and working as assistant manager in the Friends Shop.

Maggie Roberts – maggie@seattlebookarts.org
Maggie received her BFA from Alfred University where her studies were focused on Photography and Graphic Design. However, she has always said that if she could have afforded four years worth of mega-expensive therapy, her concentration would have been printmaking. Now, Maggie is a time-divider – 1/3 art, 1/3 business, 1/3 home. The art time is usually spent digging back into the printmaking world through letterpress and silkscreen. The business time is spent as a serial entrepreneur. Currently she and her husband, Jim, own and operate a small invitation company, Uncommon Envelope. The home time is dedicated to Jim, their two dogs, Jersey and Bailey, and working on her new (old) house in Tacoma.
Lynne Kelly – lynne@seattlebookarts.org
Lynne Kelly lives at the base of Mt Index with her family and 2 horses.
When she is not getting glue all over everything, she is out
in her garden or earning money for art supplies by working as a Legal
Nurse Consultant.
Some of her work can be viewed at www.yourlifegoeshere.com.
Yuka Petz – yuka@seattlebookarts.org
Yuka Petz caught the bookbinding bug after making her first book
in third grade and has been making books and paper ever since. She
has a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design
and has studied papermaking at the Dieu Donné papermill in New
York and the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Some of her work
can be viewed at http://yuka.petz.cx.
KC Potter – kc@seattlebookarts.org
K.C. Potter discovered bookmaking at a very young age, equipped with
crayons, paper, and staples. With a few more skills under her belt,
she now
finds time to create and sew pages of ABC books together for her
two nieces.
K.C. studied Fine Art, Photography and Art History at the University
of
Pennsylvania, and most recently fell in love with letterpress at
the Pratt
Fine Art Center in Seattle. Her passion for the arts led her to teach
photography and run programs at a local non-profit serving Seattle
youth.
Currently, K.C. is developing her own artwork, and is employed at
the G.
Gibson Gallery in Pioneer Square.
Dan Shafer – dan@seattlebookarts.org

and runs Dandy

at Mills College in Oakland, CA. He has a BA in Studio art
from Western Washington University and an MFA in Design from
California College
of the Arts.
